Napa Valley Getaway

This past weekend, my husband and I took a little “Lovers Getaway” to the Napa Valley. It’s less than a hour away, and to be honest, we should really escape to this little slice of heaven more often.

We were fortunate to stay at the private Est8te for ONEHOPE wine. A very exclusive property which requires you to be a VIP (Vineyard Investment Partner) or member to stay here. This 14,000 sq ft home includes:

  • 8 master suites (no two are exactly alike)

  • 11 bathrooms throughout the property

  • a 35 ft tower that overlooks the property

  • an amazing gourmet kitchen

  • pool & spa

  • a fully stocked wine cellar with ONEHOPE varietals (Glitter and Shimmer Bottle heaven)

  • a bocce ball court

  • an outdoor pizza oven

    &

  • tons of entertaining space.

Honestly, there are so many breathtaking details to this property, the list goes on and on! For more information about this dreamy property…click here.

Friday Highlights:

ONEHOPE Est8te: When we arrived to the Est8te we were treated with a delicious glass of ONEHOPE Napa Valley Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon which helps children with Autism. Every 2 cases sold helps fund 1 hour of ABA therapy for a child with autism. We were given a lovely tour of the property and spent time relaxing in the main room enjoying the company and conversation of the other guests staying the weekend. We were very lucky and although the property has eight master suites, only three were full, so it felt like we had the dream home to ourselves.

DINNER: As I am sure you can tell, I love beautiful spaces and I get completely lost in the details. On our first night we made reservations at RH Yountville. A five-building complex that includes a restaurant, gallery, and wine vault. Reservations can be made separately at both the wine vault and restaurant. When it comes to wow factor, this place has it all covered! Sparkling chandeliers, stunning water fountains and 100-year-old olive trees. There is a long table that we were told by the hostess, Becky, that normally holds 300 candles, but because it had been raining, they were not out and lit. An excuse for me to have to go back. We brought a bottle of the ONEHOPE Russian River Valley Reserve Pinot Noir to enjoy with our meal. This bottle helps educate people on how they can save endangered species as there are endangered species threatened everyday.

Saturday Highlights:

LUNCH: The hubby and I made reservations at Mustards Grill for two at 11:45 and I am so glad we did! We pulled into the parking lot and it was basically empty. Within 30 minutes of sitting down to eat, the place was PACKED! Beating the rush was worth it. The service was outstanding and the food was fantastic. Our two favorite eats were from the Appetizer menu: the Ahi Tuna Crackers and the Crazy Good Wings which were just that…CRAZY GOOD!

WINE TASTING 1: Our first wine tasting reservation we made at Silver Oak. Recently my husband and I finished off a bottle of 2002 Twomey Merlot (which had somehow got stuck in the back of the wine fridge) and we wanted to visit this property to buy some new vintages and also stock up on some of the delicious varietals produced by Silver Oak. We had the most delightful time One of my favorite tastes of the day was the 2005 Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon along with the 2016 Twomey Single Vineyard Bien Nacido Santa Maria Valley Pinot Noir. On my next trip back, I’m looking forward to the Food & Wine Pairing Tour or possibly a Cooking Class with Winery Chef Dominic.

WINE TASTING 2: After visiting the Brown Estate Winery property for a private event, the Brown Downtown Napa Tasting Room was on my list of places I wanted to experience. It exceeded my expectations completely. We sat down on a luxurious velvet couch and explored a wine and small bite pairing. A few of my favorite selections were the 2016 Rosemary’s Block Zinfandel and the 2016 Napa Valley Betelgeuse (which they were almost completely sold out of but we were able to snag two bottles). A few of the details I fell in love with: The wine glasses and aqua glasses by Gabriel-Glas were stunning. Also, if you choose to visit, make sure you take a trip to the restroom to see the fantastic wallpaper.

ONEHOPE Est8te: We returned back to the Est8te to freshen up and enjoy some of the Rutherford Estate Cabernet Sauvignon from the ONEHOPE Iconic collection. This bottle helps deliver quality health care services to families in need throughout the Napa Valley. It is grown on the property from block 2 and we just had to give it a whirl. Sitting by the outdoor fire pit, looking at the moon peek through the clouds and listening to the bullfrogs…it was ALL just so perfect.

DINNER: Reservations for our next stop I made at The Charter Oak. This place has only been open for three months and it securing a time was pretty tough. Because I booked during the week for a Saturday night reservation, I ended up with an 8:30pm time! However, it was worth the wait because (in my opinion) we received the best table in the back corner of restaurant! As I have previously mentioned, I love the little details and here, my mind was blown. They stamp the menus everyday! There is a secret drawer built into the table that holds your silverware! The food was amazing. Hats off to Chef Katianna Hong. The service was phenomenal. The ambiance and entire experience was one of the best I’ve ever had. For our wine selection at dinner, we did bring along the 2016 ONEHOPE Carneros Reserve Pinot Noir which, every bottle helps educate 375 people on how they can save endangered species.

Sunday Highlights:

ONEHOPE Est8te: Upon our return from dinner last night we took full advantage of the private outdoor hot tub attached to our mater suite. Cover your eyes and read no further if you blush easily, but it was extremely romantic and almost as steamy as when we had our honeymoon. I’ll leave it at that. We woke up to the rain falling outside and the sun peeking through the clouds after the storm passed. On our departure from the Est8te, a full rainbow passed over the Crush Pad and Tasting Room (under construction). It was the perfect image to end our magical trip.

Brunch: We stopped by and had brunch at the Lucy Restaurant & Bar at the Bardessono Hotel & Spa in the heart of downtown Yountville. I was please with the food and service. I enjoyed a Mumm Mimosa with my meal. One of the things that caught my eye here was the art throughout the Hotel. I would have liked to spend more time exploring, but we were in and out pretty quickly as we wanted to drive and do some exploring before getting back to reality.

Exploring: A few places I’d like to visit during our next trip include:
